The Half Podcast

Episode 06: Sarah Hughes

January 22, 2016

Episode 06 of The Half Podcast sees us joined by the wonderful Sarah Hughes.

Sarah is a leading casting director across a wide range of theatre and television. Some of her best known work has come as Alan Ayckbourn's casting director, which entails casting all the world premieres of his plays including those in the West End, at the National Theatre and in the USA.

She has also cast numerous productions for Frantic Assembly and has cast a huge range of TV, including Jonathan Creek, Love Soup & 2 Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps.

Sarah is also noted for her work with actors with disabilities; she ran the BBC Talent Alert, looking for new disabled talent all over the UK (and reconnecting with existing actors with disabilities) in order to encourage on-screen representation of disabled actors.
Our first nominated charity project as chosen by Sarah is Access All Areas' excellent Madhouse Outreach project. Find out more about them on Twitter at @AAATheatre and donate at: virginmoneygiving.com/fund/madhouse
