Welcome to episode 10 of The Half Podcast! Apologies for my absence of late, it’s hard to keep the show ticking over when you’re on tour, but I’ve now been catapulted back into London normality, so normal service will be resumed.
It’s been a while since our last episode with the wonderful Tara Finney, so I just want to say how thrilled I am with the response to that one. I had a raft of tweets saying what a great guest Tara was and I couldn’t agree more, so my thanks again to her for being a terrific contributor to the show. If any of you managed to catch My Mother Said I Never Should at the St. James after we discussed it on the show, you’ll know what a special piece of work it was. It was the first show for Tara’s new production company Tiny Fires Ltd and if you didn’t manage to see it, take it from me - it was absolutely brilliant. Tara has two shows coming up: firstly, Tara returns to Theatre 503 to bring us The Acedian Pirates which runs from 26 October - 19 November 2016. She’s also teaming up with 503 and the Bristol Old Vic to take the six-time Off-West End Award nominated show And Then Come The Nightjars on tour from September - October 2016. All the dates for this and more info about both shows can be found at Tara’s website, tarafinney.com.
Next up: we have a wonderful guest this week. Those of you who’ve listened to my interview with Gillian Saker will already be aware that one of my first jobs out of drama school was a production of Othello at Riverside Studios in 2014. On that job, I met another actor by the name of Stefan Adegbola, who I admire hugely as a performer and I really enjoyed working with him, so I’m delighted to have him on this episode of the show.
Don’t be alarmed if you hear some scratching and flailing around on this recording as well. Besides conducting an interview, Stefan and I were also entertaining a very excitable dog who was quite insistent that I periodically chuck a tennis ball across the room, so if you hear any odd background noise, it’s just a dog who was very excited to have company.
Don't forget to check out this week's nominated charity, Shelter. They do fantastic work and deserve your support so head over to their website and chuck a few quid their way: shelter.org.uk.
